By applying within our regular application deadline. For our INB program you can only start in the summer semester and the first semester.
Credit transfer can only be discussed after enrollment. Contact the course leader (Prof. Baral) to arrange an appointment. He will start the process with you. Please note that if you're from a country that requires prior study semesters, this is part of your university entrance qualification and cannot be taken into account.
No, in INB we only admit into the first semester.
The first two years of the program are in English and therefore have a sufficient level of English as one of the admission requirements. However, we recommend that you study German to at least level A2 to get off to a good start in Germany. The more German you have when you arrive, the easier your first year will be when we combine our technical classes with intensive German language courses.
Our German courses are part of our International Engineering Bachelor program and therefore covered by the tuition fees.
Sorry, not for first year students. From the third semester onwards, there are various opportunities with different organisations, including teaching jobs within our department.
In general, yes, if the employment office allows it. However, you must bear in mind that the workload in the first semesters is immense due to the combination of technical lectures and intensive German language courses. Laboratory courses are also compulsory at our university.
Our International Engineering Bachelor program (INB) offers 30 places each summer semester.
Once you have created an account in our Campus portal and submitted your online application you can check your application status in the Campus portal.

As an international student, you will need a student visa. The visa process can take several months, so we recommend applying for a visa as soon as possible. With most embassies/consulates, you can book an appointment to apply for a visa before receiving your admission letter. However, you will definitely need your admission letter at the appointment. Our admission documents are valid for Technische Hochschule Mannheim; your study visa must be issued for Technische Hochschule Mannheim. To commence the program, you must be at the university from day one (1rst March).
Our campus portal is open for applications from mid of October. The sooner you register and upload your documents, the sooner they can be reviewed by our admissions committee. We will contact you if we need additional documents or information. Don't wait until the last minute - the closing date for applications is 15th Nov.
Sorry, no. We need your final grades.
You do not have to. You choose your specialization in your 6th semester.

Students in Mannheim can expect to spend an average of €700-800 per month (including rent for student accommodation, national health insurance, semester ticket and food). There are also administrative fees and tuition fees for non-EU students per semester. One option to cover your living expenses is to use a blocked account. You will need the blocked account to apply for the visa anyway.
