Language training
INB start in English... with an excellent language program in parallel
The International Engineering Program (INB) starts in English. For the last two semesters, you have the option of switching to courses taught in German or staying with courses taught in English, depending on your chosen specialization.
Alongside the technical courses, we offer an excellent language program to prepare you for your internship, technical courses in German and ultimately your career in Germany.
Our intensive language training runs parallel to the engineering program and during semester breaks, giving you the best study support possible.
Basic German is recommended at the start
Even though no German is required to start in the INB program, it is highly recommended to bring at least a basic level of German for a good start in Germany. This will significantly increase your success in the program and has proven extremely helpful in everyday life. We recommend an A2 level when starting with us. You will receive guidance on learning German on your own before coming to Germany from our German coordinator.
German courses during the foundation phase
Two non-technical electives are included in the Foundation Phase. This allows you to earn credits (ETCs) for up to two language courses in the INB program. However, a fully integrated language program is offered in parallel to the technical courses, bringing you up to DSH2 level.
Specializations in German
After the fifth semester, you can choose a specialization taught in German. To attend lectures in German, you must have reached a sufficient level of German (B2 or higher). This is usually demonstrated by passing the appropriate courses at our Language center. There is no need to pay for external certification.
